Just SFTP

FAQ

Why only SFTP? What about FTP, WebDAV, or S3?

Because most file transfer apps try to be a file manager for every protocol at once, and the SFTP experience suffers for it. Just SFTP does one protocol, thoroughly: faster transfers, a simpler mental model, and no settings for services you'll never use.

Is Just SFTP actually secure by default?

Host keys are pinned the first time you connect to a server (trust-on-first-use). If a server's key ever changes without warning, which is how man-in-the-middle attacks and some misconfigurations show up, Just SFTP stops and asks before continuing. Saved passwords and private keys live in the macOS Keychain, never in a plain file.

How does the free trial work?

Just SFTP is free to try for 7 days from first launch, with full functionality. After the trial, connecting requires a one-time $12.99 license, no subscription.

What do I get for $12.99?

A permanent license for Just SFTP on your Mac, including future updates to the app. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Where do my saved servers live?

Server bookmarks (host, port, username) sync privately across your Macs via your personal iCloud account. Passwords and private keys are never included in that sync; they stay in each Mac's local Keychain.

I lost my license key. What do I do?

Email [email protected] from the address you purchased with and we'll look it up.

Does Just SFTP collect any usage data or analytics?

No. The app doesn't include any analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs. License keys are validated locally on your Mac; nothing about your key or your servers is sent anywhere to unlock the app.
