Just SFTP

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-18

Just SFTP is built to hold as little of your data as possible. This policy describes exactly what that means.

What the app collects

Just SFTP does not include any analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting software. Nothing about how you use the app, which servers you connect to, or what files you transfer is sent anywhere.

License keys are validated entirely on your Mac, using a local check built into the app. Entering a key does not contact any server.

What the app stores, and where

  • Server bookmarks (hostname, port, username) are stored on your Mac and, if iCloud is signed in, synced privately across your Macs via your personal iCloud account. This sync is between your own devices through Apple’s infrastructure; we never see it.
  • Passwords and private keys are stored in the macOS Keychain, tied to your Mac. They are never included in the iCloud-synced bookmark record and never leave your device.
  • Files you transfer move directly between your Mac and the SFTP server you connect to. Just SFTP does not relay, cache, or retain a copy of your files anywhere else.

Direct-purchase checkout

If you buy Just SFTP directly rather than through the Mac App Store, checkout is handled by our payment processor, which collects the payment details necessary to process your purchase. We receive your email address (to deliver your license key) and purchase confirmation, not your full payment details.

Analytics on this website

This website (justsftp.app) uses Abner, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool. It does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites. It has nothing to do with the app itself.
